As we come back to you after a short hiatus for the holiday, we thought it an apt time to address women's fashion. After all, just a short while ago, we discussed men's summer business fashion and we certainly do not want to slight our loyal lady readers!

So, we contacted our good friend Molly Adams, buyer and manager of Pappagallo. We asked Molly for her insight on what trends can carry through the current seasons for ladies' fashion.

We knew we would of course get some great tips from Molly that we could work into our weekly web feature. But, her tips turned out to be perfect as is and in no need of any editing! (If you know Molly, you will not be surprised by this as she is so perfectly styled whenever you see her.)

So without further ado, some great fashion info direct… From The Mind of Molly!

There are trends that translate from Spring ‘08 to Fall ‘08; tunics, patent leather, and hombre or dip-dyed garments.

Tunics are very popular because they are a cross between a top and a dress, depending on how tall you are and how long they are. It to me seems to be an economical answer in fashion. You get two types of garments in one. You can wear it with jeans, crop pants, skinny pants/jeans, or as a cute summer dress. I took a tunic I own and added a vintage slip underneath to create a layered look in a dress. I wanted to stretch its potential of just being a top!

Patent leather is a staple right now. It was hot for spring, but moves into fall. It is more predominant in accessories, but also shows up as a trim on some garments. If you have a patent leather accessory you are right on target with the trends, not just black though. There is an array of colors available.

Hombre or dip-dyed garments are a blast from the past. They take you back to the days when tie-dye was popular. This time around it is more subtle and much classier. Now, they have made it fashionable. Hombre goes from skirts, to dresses, to tops. It mainly appears in the jewel toned colors. There have also been some added touches of hombre in shoes and handbags.
