DINNER FOR SCHMUCKS is now playing. I bet it’s gonna be really funny selling tickets to this one. “Two schmucks for the 7:10 schmucks”. Or how about when we radio up to the projectionist- “We have schmucks at 7:10”. Or if there’s a whole list it might be like this- “We have schmucks, Kids and Charlie Saint Cloud, all at 7:10”. But I digress... Dinner for Schmucks stars Steve Carrel and promises to be a simple laugher perfect for a summer night of comedy. Zach Galif-laugh-my-butt-off-ikas is also in this one with a small but hilarious cameo/role.
THE KIDS ARE ALRIGHT By special request of Carol, we are proud to bring this comedy to Lancaster. I’m just kidding, but seriously, this is one of those ones that got a “Limited” release but we have been hearing great things about it and we were able to grab it for Lititz. The plot is when two kids who were born through artificial insemination invite their natural father into their lives. The premise is hilarious but what makes this movie a stand-out is the cast- Julianne Moore,, Annette Benning and Mark Ruffalo all of whom have, I’m sure you know, amazing comedy chops. I’m really excited we have this one and I hope you get in to see it, Rated-R for all kinds of fun reasons. You can see the Trailer by clicking HERE.
CATS and DOGS 3-D I don’t know a lot about this movie other than it is a true-blue kiddie film and is apparently about, uh, Cats and, er, Dogs. I’m not sure what the stroyline here is but I think it has something to do with a shared mistrust of talking pigeons. In which case I would agree- everytime I end up talking to a pigeon it never ends well. Anyway- I would like to point out three cool things about this movie- (1) They have a fun website. Warner Brothers is great at Web stuff (Remember the viral campaign for TDK?) Click HERE to check it out. (2) The movie’s subtitle is “The Revenge of Kitty Galore” Come on. Perfect. And (3) Warners has put a LOONEY TUNES ROADRUNNER AND WILEY COYOTE Cartoon in front of the movie, like in the old days. So there you have it, in all of its 3-D Glory... Cats and Dogs.
CHARLIE St. CLOUD Zach Efron (not nearly as funny as the aforementioned, more Greek, Zach) stars in the love story of the Summer. Isn’t he dreamy? A lot of the girls at work are pretty excited for this one. Bring your Kleenex, word is it’s a tear-jerker. But it’s nice to see Zac stretching his acting roles and I actually heard his acting in this is really strong. So who knows, maybe he’ll grow up and make some really good movies. I heard they’re looking for someone pretty to star in Transformers 3 now that Megan Fox bailed.
MONDAY NIGHT MOVIES We are about final for our Fall Schedule. It’s really really good and we’re super excited for a fun season. Lots of comedies to take the edge off of going back to school and whatnot. Stay tuned! Hey, wouldn’t it be cool if we could play a Monday Night Movie over on the IMAX screen after its open? How about, like Transformers 1 in IMAX? Sweet! I’ll check it out with the Toron’o gang and see what we see... (The second T in Toronto is silent, I was told. Otherwise you sound like a dork, like a tourist) (IMAX is headquartered in Toron’o) (The border crossing is pretty intense, I’m just saying).
